The Mohs surgery technique allows
dermatologists to effectively treat patients who have
developed skin cancers that are either inherently
difficult to treat, or are located in an area of the
body that is difficult to address.
The technique has been called microscopic
controlled surgery, and enables dermatologists to
examine surgical margins in the office with more accuracy
than a standard laboratory. The Mohs technique produces
smaller scars, and has a lower recurrence rate than
standard excisional surgery.
Dr. Orton is an expert
in Mohs surgery, with over 25 years of experience
with the technique.
